��The Square Pagoda Garden was built in 1978,covering an area
of 182 mu,used to be the downtown area of ancient Huaating in
Tang and Song Dynasty.It is the place for the appreciation of
historical relic constructions.It has six relic constructions
of national-level,municipal-level,district-level,in the garden.The
Square Pagoda of Song Dynasty is the center of the garden,surrounded
by Wangxian Bridge of Song,Ming lanrui hall,Screen wall made
out of brick,Qing Tianfei palace,Chenghuacheng temple.And there
are other garden architectures such as ancient style corridor,Helou
pavilion,Turret pavilion,Water pavilion,Wulao hill,Meinu hill,Taying
stone boat,granite chasm road,etc.
��Thepools,hill,lakes,pagodas,pigeon,carp,lotus,bamboo forest,grassland,old
trees,various flowers and the antique buildings in the garden
add radiance to each other and show a nice look.The garden is
covered with modern architecture style of grace,nature,peace,with
a distinct style of Song Dynasty.
��The design of the Square Pagoda Garden was honord the "Superior
Creation Prize"in the 50th anniversary of the P.R.C. construction
competition in 1999 UIA "World Architecture Conferens",as
one of the only four in shanghai.The Helou Pavilion in the garden
was once honored the masterpiece prize of Shanghai Construction
competition.
