���上海世界外国语小学坐落在上海市漕河经新兴技术开发区，是一所隶属徐汇区教育局、实行董事会领导下的校长负责制的新型学校。学校拥自一支素质高、事业心强、教学水平高的师资队历。原上海外国语大学副校长施伯云任董事长。现任校长为上海市劳动模范、全国优秀教育工作者王小平，徐汇区人大常委会主任黄承海任名誉校长，著名教育家吕型伟任名誉董事长。
��� 学校全面贯彻教育要“三个面向”的指示精神，在促进学生德、智、体诸方面发展的基础上，重在培养学生的道德素质，国际意识和发展能力，为使他们成为“有教养的、有竞争力的、国际型人才”打下坚实的基础。
��� 学校十分重视学生的道德发展，养成良好的行为习惯，培育优雅的人际交往方式。学校有较大的办学自主权，课程设置灵活多样。在优质完成义务教育的前提下，十分注重外语教学，强调听说领先，读写跟上，旨在使学生既习惯于用外语思考，能流利地表达，又有良好的外国语文的基本素养。

��� 学校十分注意实施初通计算机教育的思想，开设计算机程序语言课程，注重以计算机为对象的信息科学教育，旨在促进儿童思维能力的发展。
��� 自1993年创建以来，学校领导一直在思考的问题是如 何以国际社会的未来发展为背景，探索中国基础教育的改革。为此，学校要求教师加强对学生进行国际教育，以使学生能和各国的同龄人一道，在21世纪的世界进程中发挥
应有的作用。
��� 自办学以来，学校接受了来自亚洲、欧洲以及北美的同行们的访问、就共同关心的教育问题进行过交流。会后，学校乐意同更多国家和地区的、关心教育的人士与机构开展内容更加丰富多样的合作。
��� Shanghai world Foreign Language Primary School,located
at Caohejing New Technology Development Area，Xuhui District，Shanghai，

leadership of the board of directors，supervised
by Xuhui District Education Bureau．It has a well－qualified
and dedicated faculty with much teaching experience．Mr．Huang
Chenghai，director of the Standing Committee of the People’s
Congress of Xuhui District is the honorable principal．The
honorable board chairman is Mr.Lu Xingwei，a famous educator．The
board chairman is Mr．Shi Boyun，former deputy president of
Shanghai International Studies University． Madam wang Xiaoping
is now appointed as principal of the school．
��� As its basic educational concept the school is oriented
to modernization，the world and the future，as Comrade DengXiaoping
instructed．While promoting the ethical，intellectual and physlcal

development of the students，the school lays
emphasis on developing the students moral quality， international
knowledge and consclousness and an ability for world activities，so
as to enable them to become well－ cultivated and competitive"worldly"
talents．
��� The school attaches great importance to students moral
development, good behavlor habits and excellent communicatlon
ability．
��� The school enjoys a large extent of autonomy in running
itself and has a varied and flexible curriculum．On the premise
of well fulhiling the curriculum for compulsory education，the
school pays special attention to foreign language teaching．Stress
is laid on listening and speaking and written language training
is also strengthened．It is intended by so doing to let the
students to develop a habit to think in foreign language，to
be able to express themselves fluently in foreign language
and to have a sound cultivation in it．
��� The school also attaches great importance to training
the students in the basic knowledge of computer as proposed
by the United Nations． Computer programming language courses
are taught and computer－based information science education

��� Since its establishment In 1993，the leadership of the
school has been exploring the issue of reforming China's elementary
education against the backdrop of the future development of
the world community．Consequently，the faculty of the school
is urged to further promote world－oriented education among
the students so that they may play necessary roles together
with their peers in other countries in the progress of the
world in the 21st century．
��� Since its establishment，the school has received visitors
from Asia，Europe and North America and has communicated with
them on mutually interested educational issues．In time to
come， the school will be happy to initiate and develop cooperation
of more various forms with people and organizations interested
in education．
